Connect your J-ReX to ta WiFi network

When you log on to https://jifeline.obd.help you can use a setup wizard. This is the easiest way to connect the J-ReX to the internet.

Alternative way

In the video we show you how to connect your J-ReX to your shop's 2.4 GHz WiFi network.

Quick start guide

  1. Connect the J-ReX to the OBD2 plug of a vehicle.
The orange LED lights up continuously, the green LED starts flashing slowly.
  2. Open the settings menu on your mobile phone.
  3. Go to "Connections".
  4. Turn off "Mobile data" so that the phone cannot connect to the Internet through the mobile data network.

  5. Now connect your phone via WiFi to the gateway in the J-ReX "Connector_ID".
  6. Then scan the QR code below:

  7. Your phone's browser will try to open the http://connector.help page. Allow this.
  8. Select the WiFi network to which you want to connect the J-ReX and enter the correct password for the network.
  9. The J-ReX is now connected to the WiFi network. Both the orange LED and the green LED are on permanently.

J-ReX firmware update: green LED blinks, orange LED is permanent on.

  10. If you want to request a service from Jifeline, continue here.

Failed to connect to WiFi network

If connecting the J-ReX to the WiFi network fails, try a mobile data connection. Are you able to connect the J-ReX with a mobile data connection, for example your phone as a hotspot? If so, you should have your company's network administrator check the TCP / UDP settings of your router. You can find the correct TCP / UDP settings here.
