The J-ReX software and firmware are updated on a regular basis. These updates are made using the Over The Air (OTA) method. This is indicated by the following:
- The blue LEDs on the top of the J-ReX will light up.
- The orange LED on the Ethernet port of the J-ReX will flash.
The J-ReX must be connected to a vehicle's OBD-II connector and connected (wired) to the internet to perform the software update.
If a software and/or firmware update fails, we recommend reconnecting the J-ReX to the vehicle's OBD-II connector. Once the J-ReX is reconnected to the internet, the firmware update will continue.
In the unlikely event that the update fails each time, connect the J-ReX wired to the internet. Reboot the J-ReX using the reset pin. The software and/or firmware update will now restart.
