J-ReX OTA Update

From time to time, new software becomes available for the J-ReX. These updates are installed automatically as soon as the J-ReX is connected to the internet.

During an update, the green JIFE letters on top of the J-ReX turn blue and the device may occasionally emit a beeping sound. During the update, the orange LED on the side of the J-ReX (near the Ethernet port) may temporarily turn off or blink, this is normal.

NOTE: It is important not to disconnect the J-ReX from the vehicle or the internet during the update. Doing so may interrupt the update and cause the device to freeze.

What to do
Leave the device connected to the vehicle during the update and wait until the LEDs on top turn green again. This indicates that the update is complete and the J-ReX is ready for use!

The duration of an update may vary depending on your internet speed and how far the J-ReX is behind on the software version. If the J-ReX has not been used for a longer period, it may not have been updated and can therefore take longer to complete the update.

In general, an update takes 1 to 2 minutes when the J-ReX is used regularly.

Update issues
It may occur that the J-ReX is unable to download an update, even when it is connected to the internet. This can be caused by a network security restriction.

To complete the update, you can connect the J-ReX to a different network without this restriction, such as a mobile hotspot.
