Requirements:
• J-ReX
• Vehicle with OBD port
• Reset pin (or paperclip)
• A stable Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz)
• Device with internet access
- Plug the OBD connector of the J-ReX into the vehicle’s OBD port.
- Use the reset pin or a paperclip to press and hold the reset button on the J-ReX for five seconds (you can find it on the lower right at the back of the device).
- On the back of the J-ReX, you will find the connector number.
- On your device, go to “Settings / Wi-Fi networks” and look for available Wi-Fi networks nearby.
- Please note: If you're using a mobile phone, first disable mobile data.
- Look for the J-ReX in the list of available networks. It will appear as "connector XXXXX." If it's not listed, reset the J-ReX again.
- Connect to the J-ReX. You may receive a message saying you're connected without internet. You can safely ignore or dismiss this message.
- Using the same device connected to the J-ReX, open an internet browser and enter connector.help in the URL bar.
- Under the section “available networks,” choose the Wi-Fi network you want to connect the J-ReX to.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password and click “connect.”
Important: You will not receive a notification if the password is incorrect, so please ensure there are no spelling mistakes. - A spinning circle will appear. Watch the orange and green LEDs near the Ethernet port and wait until both the orange and green lights stay on continuously.
Note: The webpage may jump back to the “available networks” screen. This does not indicate that the J-ReX is connected. Always focus on the LEDs, they show the actual connection status. - The front LEDs on the top of the J-ReX may turn blue, indicating a firmware update is in progress.
Important: If a firmware update is running, you need to wait. The LEDs will turn green automatically once the update is complete. - Once both Ethernet port LEDs stay on continuously and the front LEDs turn green, the J-ReX is successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network.
- Once connected, you may turn mobile data back on for your device.
