The easiest way to connect the J-ReX quickly and efficiently is by using our OBD WiFi Connect app. With this app, you can easily connect the J-ReX to a WiFi network or mobile hotspot. The app is available for both Android and Apple devices.
1. Download and install the app
- Go to the Google Play Store or the App Store
- Search for: OBD WiFi Connect
- Download and install the app on your device
2. Connect the J-ReX
- Connect the J-ReX to the vehicle’s OBD port
- Make sure the ignition is switched on
3. Connect via the app
- Open the OBD WiFi Connect app
- Follow the instructions shown in the app
- Select a WiFi network or mobile hotspot
- Enter the password and confirm the connection
⚠️ Important
- Carefully check the password for typing errors
- No error message will be shown if the password is incorrect
- If the password is entered incorrectly, the J-ReX will not be able to connect
4. Check the connection
- Once both LEDs next to the ethernet port remain continuously lit, the J-ReX is successfully connected
Important
It is possible that the front LEDs on top of the J-ReX turn blue and the device starts beeping. This indicates that an update is being downloaded. The J-ReX automatically downloads updates whenever they become available and the device is connected to a network.
During an update, it is important to keep the J-ReX connected to the vehicle and not interrupt the connection. Wait until the front LEDs turn green again. Once they are green, the update is complete and the J-ReX is ready for use again.
